Mention “The Shootout” and avid sports fishermen begin fastening bait to hooks. Every year, their vessels converge on The Abacos in search of king predators. The blue marlin, a worthy challenge, is considered the crown of game fishing. To be successful, captain, angler, and mate must be in tune with each other. This is high-stakes fishing, after all. A competition against the world’s best.
The Abacos are privileged. Located along major migration routes, these waters make for some of the best fishing in the world. Just 30 minutes out to the Sea of Abaco, the seabed drops a whopping 5,000 feet, placing anglers in close proximity to sailfish, marlin, and wahoo.
